Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 June 2026
What this covers
This policy applies to the tinv web player (this website) and the tinv player browser extension. Both exist for a single purpose: to compress and play .tinv video files in your browser.
Data we collect
None. We do not collect any personal information. We have no servers that receive your data, no cookies for tracking, no analytics, and no advertising.
How your videos are handled
- Videos are decoded and played locally on your device.
- Files you open are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- The only network request is the browser fetching the .tinv file you chose to open (for example, a shared link).
- Your last playback position is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so you can resume — it never leaves your device.
Browser extension permissions
The tinv player extension requests:
- declarativeNetRequest — to detect when you open a .tinv link and redirect it to the bundled player so it plays inline instead of downloading. It only matches URLs ending in “.tinv”.
- Host access (all sites) — because .tinv links can be hosted on any website, the redirect rule must work on any domain. The extension does not read page content, inject scripts, or collect data from the pages you visit.
Third parties
This site is hosted on Vercel, which may collect standard server logs (such as IP address) as part of serving the page, per Vercel's own privacy practices. tinv itself adds no tracking on top of this.
Children's privacy
tinv collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change. The single-purpose, no-data-collection model is not expected to change.
